British Sign Language Level 3

Last updated 21.10.2024

The Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language (BSL) meets the learning needs of those who already have competence in BSL at Level 2 and are interested in developing their skills and knowledge. Successful learners must be able to demonstrate competence at Level 3 of the UK Occupational Language Standards (Instructus 2012). This means that the learner will be able to understand and use varied BSL in a range of work and social situations.

The learner will acquire an advanced understanding of the structure and function of British Sign Language, along with insights into the Deaf Community and its culture.

This qualification is beneficial for individuals regularly interacting with Deaf individuals, such as social workers, Deaf educators, interpreters, volunteers, professionals within Deaf organisations, and educational institutions. It is also valuable for those aspiring to work within these environments or anyone seeking to enhance their proficiency in British Sign Language. More information about this course can be found on Signature's website here.
